From targets to transition: Natlink translates ambition into action

Having a structured transition plan in place provides the internal framework needed to drive real change - across operations, products, and the value chain. More than a nice to have for a company with progressive owners - in this case Verdane, the Nordic growth equity firm behind Natlink.

"We believe that companies that cut their emissions will outcompete their peers in a more sustainable future economy where carbon is priced, and a credible transition plan gives a clear roadmap"

What does it take to turn climate ambition into a plan for action? For Natlink Group AB - as for many others - the answer starts with knowing where you stand, and then committing to where you're going.

Natlink is a Nordic tech company behind platforms for Wildlife Management, Search & Rescue, and Emergency Response coordination. Working with ClimateHero, they have completed their first full GHG inventory and shaped their first Climate Transition Plan - a concrete roadmap to Net Zero by 2040.

With 98% of Natlink's emissions sitting in Scope 3, the supply chain is where the biggest leverage lies. Though Natlink defines itself as a SaaS company, hardware matters most from a climate action perspective. Purchased goods - primarily trail cameras and GPS hardware - account for the single largest share of emissions. Natlink's transition plan responds to this directly: with a roadmap of moving from transactional supplier relationships to active climate partnerships, aligning reduction targets, obtaining LCA-based product data, and embedding sustainability in procurement.

Beyond the supply chain, the plan addresses circular product design, business travel, logistics, and a shift toward circular business models - including repair and pre-loved product sales. Near-term targets are ambitious: Scope 1 fully phased out by 2028, 100% renewable electricity by 2027, and a 60% intensity reduction across all scopes by 2030.

At ClimateHero, we're proud to have supported Natlink in building this foundation - not just a target on paper, but a plan for action. We look forward to following their progress.
