Two million people, one shared mission

In 2025, ClimateHero passed a milestone we once only dreamed of: more than two million people have now used our climate calculator to understand their footprint and commit to reducing it, on average by around 30% each. Together, that adds up to 4 million tonnes of CO₂e reduced annually through real behavior change. Available in seven languages and used across 165 countries, the movement is only growing.

Two million people. That number still gives me chills. When we started ClimateHero, we believed that individuals could become a powerful force for climate action, and now we have the proof. What moves me even more is that behind each of those two million actions is a real person choosing to look honestly at their impact. That's not nothing. That's everything.

Two million people didn't happen by accident. It happened because we kept building, kept listening, and kept raising the bar. Here are a few things we're especially proud of from 2025.
- Carbon accounting for SMEs. Proper carbon accounting has been out of reach for small and medium businesses for too long. We changed that. Our platform now covers full Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, in line with the GHG Protocol, with full traceability, and built to be friendly and fast.
- Your own progress profile. Users can now log in and watch their climate progress build year on year, all in one place. Climate action is a long game, and it helps to see the line bending.
- A bigger way to contribute. We expanded our climate contribution service to include biochar for durable carbon removal, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), so that flying can fund a switch to bio-based jet fuel rather than fossil.
- The Nordic Climate Advisory Group. Together with other industry thought leaders, we formed a group with one shared ambition: to standardise how emissions are measured across the Nordics. Better, comparable accounting helps everyone.
Accountability isn't optional
We believe accountability is built in, not bolted on. That's why we've always had our work independently audited, not because we have to, but because integrity is the whole point.
In 2025, on behalf of our users, we accounted for 45,145 tonnes of CO₂e and balanced 59,041, which is 31% more than was owed, all through Gold Standard-certified solar, wind, bio power, water purification and cookstove projects, plus 258 tonnes of long-term removal for corporate clients. An independent ISRS 4400 review by PwC confirmed that every offsetting activity followed our published guidelines, as it has every year for the past eight years.
Our own footprint came in at 18.6 tonnes CO₂e, which is 41% below our 2022 baseline and 79% lower per MSEK of revenue. We balance 200% of our own emissions, and we remain clear with ourselves: offsetting is the bridge, not the destination. Net zero by 2030.
